Hopkins: Above-Belowground interactions
Overview of My Research
My research uses disturbance ecology approaches to explore microbial community assembly. I use a combination of field, trait, molecular and greenhouse based approaches to answer how above-ground processes influence soil microbes and their ecological function.
Can we use disturbance ecology to understand microbial community assembly and function?
Can we use microbial traits to understand their interactions with the environment?
Can we design management regimes that promote desirable ecosystem services?
Can we use disturbance ecology to understand microbial community assembly and function?
A Little About Me
I am a soil ecologist from Indiana interested in the roles soil microbes play in natural and agricultural systems. I am currently a USDA NIFA and OSU President's Postdoctoral fellow in the Lab of Dr. Alison Bennett at The Ohio State University.
